Argentina agrees to build US bases on its territory.
Argentine President Mauricio Macri has approved the construction of several US military bases in the country; according to the Mexican news portal Aristegui Noticias, this involves at least three military bases to be built in the provinces of Neuquén (where the Vaca Muerta shale gas field is located), Misiones, and Tierra del Fuego, from where Antarctica can be monitored.

According to the portal, this involves at least three military bases to be built in the provinces of Neuquén (where the Vaca Muerta shale gas field is located), Misiones, and Tierra del Fuego, from where Antarctica can be controlled.
Its creation should be funded by the US Southern Command. One of the main proponents of creating bases would be the Argentine Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich.
Furthermore, the Mexican news portal notes that the minister praised the arrival in the country of American instructors who are training Argentine police officers ahead of the G20 summit in November. This violates current Argentine laws, because it is necessary to obtain authorization from Congress for such actions, something that has not been done.
