Following appeal from minister, Elon Musk activates satellite internet service over Ukraine.
The billionaire responded to a request from the Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation on Twitter.
247 - Ukraine's Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, asked Elon Musk via Twitter to release the Starlink internet access system. This system consists of internet transmission satellites launched by SpaceX, the billionaire's company.
“While you try to colonize Mars — Russia tries to occupy Ukraine! While your rockets successfully land from space — Russian rockets attack Ukrainian civilians! We ask that you provide Ukraine with Starlink stations and direct able-bodied Russians to stand up for themselves,” the minister wrote.
Musk complied with the Ukrainian minister's request. "The Starlink service is now active in Ukraine. More terminals on the way," he replied.
