Support for Scotland remaining in the United Kingdom is at 53%.
The advantage was six percentage points over those who support the country's independence, according to a recent opinion poll on independence released while voters were already going to the polls.
LONDON (Reuters) - Supporters of keeping Scotland within the United Kingdom held a 6-point lead in a latest opinion poll on independence released as voters were already heading to the polls to decide whether Scotland should break its 307-point membership in the United Kingdom, which includes Wales, Scotland, England, and Northern Ireland.
An Ipsos Mori poll for the London Evening Standard newspaper indicates that support for remaining in the United Kingdom was at 53 percent, and that of those in favor of independence was at 47 percent.
The poll revealed that 4 percent of Scots were still undecided.
The referendum takes place this Thursday and the results are expected to be announced on Friday morning.
