Alaska, Egypt, and Germany are some of the areas vulnerable to North Korean attacks.

If North Korea decides to attack with its ballistic missiles, most of Europe would be vulnerable, according to the ABC television channel after studying available information on the capabilities of North Korean missiles; among the regions that are beyond the range of North Korean missiles are Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, southern Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, as well as several regions of Antarctica.

In 2017, North Korea conducted several ballistic and nuclear tests, worrying many countries. The question arises: if Pyongyang decides to use its weapons in a real war, which countries could be affected?

Most of Europe faces such a risk if North Korea moves from words to actions and begins launching medium- or long-range missiles, according to the ABC television channel after studying available information on the capabilities of North Korean missiles.

Since February of this year, Pyongyang has conducted 15 ballistic and nuclear tests, most of which were successful. The country launched two Hwasong-14 intercontinental ballistic missiles, with an operational range of 8,5 km. One missile flew over Japan in September. Another test triggered an earthquake in China.

Its use endangers Eastern Europe, Turkey, Greece, the Scandinavian countries, Germany, northeastern Italy, Scotland, northern Great Britain, Alaska, western Canada, as well as the Middle East, India, northeastern Egypt and most of Australia, notes ABC.

In recent months, North Korea has also tested a missile with an operational range of 10 km. In this context, such a weapon could reach almost all of Europe, except for several regions in southern Spain and Portugal. Furthermore, the risk zone includes Tunisia, Egypt, Australia, most of Africa and eastern Libya, the US cities of New York, Los Angeles and Washington, as well as the New Zealand city of Auckland and northeastern Mexico.

Countries located up to 2 km from North Korea face the risk of being hit by medium-range missiles. Only 2 of the 9 tests of this type of missile have failed; this should concern the Japanese, more specifically the residents of Tokyo, as well as people living in northeastern China and Mongolia and in southeastern Russia.

Pyongyang also possesses Scud-C MaRV and Scud-B MaRV missiles, designed to attack areas at a distance of up to 1 km. These missiles are always dangerous to North Korea's neighboring countries (South Korea and Japan).

Submarine-launched missiles also pose a significant threat. They have a range of up to 1,2 km but can potentially reach targets at a distance of up to 2,8 km, endangering the entire Pacific region.

According to ABC, the regions that are out of range of North Korean missiles are Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Peru, Paraguay, Uruguay, southern Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, as well as several regions of Antarctica.
