Al Jazeera exposes the hypocrisy of the Brazilian coup to the world.
Journalist Mehdi Hassan, host of Al Jazeera's most popular program, Up Front, released a video this weekend discussing the hypocrisy of the Brazilian coup. He points out that President Dilma Rousseff was temporarily removed from office to make way for an ineligible interim president due to electoral fraud, named Michel Temer. Hassan also mocks the protection afforded to Eduardo Cunha, the mastermind of the coup, and notes that 303 Brazilian deputies and 49 senators are under investigation for far more serious accusations than those against Dilma. "Look in the mirror," he says. Hassan is the same journalist who recently embarrassed former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso in an interview with Al Jazeera. Watch his new video.
247 - One of the greatest examples of hypocrisy. That's how journalist Mehdi Hassan, who hosts the Up Front program, one of Al Jazeera's most popular shows, portrays the 2016 Brazilian coup.
Hassan released a video this weekend about the case. In it, the anchor recalls that President Dilma Rousseff was temporarily removed from office so that an ineligible interim president, named Michel Temer, could be installed in her place due to electoral fraud.
Hassan also mocks the protection afforded to Eduardo Cunha, the mastermind of the coup, and points out that 303 Brazilian deputies and 49 senators are under investigation for accusations far more serious than those against Dilma.
"Look at yourselves in the mirror," he says, also mentioning the three ministers already dismissed by Temer due to scandals.
Hassan is the same person who recently embarrassed former president Fernando Henrique Cardoso in an interview with Al Jazeera (remember?). here).
