Military airport near Kiev attacked by Russian helicopters, says Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian authorities, three Russian helicopters were shot down by local defenses.
Reuters Russian helicopters attacked Gostomel, a military airport near the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, on Thursday, and Ukraine shot down three of them, Ukrainian officials said.
Ukrainian border authorities said that Russian forces were attempting to penetrate Kyiv and the Zhytomyr region on the border with Belarus, and that Russia was using Grad rocket systems.
