Sputnik - Lawyer Frederick Wassef told Globo News this Saturday (20) that President Jair Bolsonaro and his son, Flávio Bolsonaro, did not know the location of Flávio's former advisor, Fabrício Queiroz.
On the morning of this Thursday (18), retired military police officer Fabrício Queiroz was arrested in the city of Atibaia in the interior of São Paulo, in an operation by the Civil Police and the Public Ministry of SP, in a property belonging to Wassef.
"Senator Flávio Bolsonaro didn't know about this. The President of the Republic didn't know about this. They were never aware of what happened. Neither Flávio nor the president himself had any contact with Fabrício Queiroz from December 2018 until the present date, and all of this is speculation," the lawyer told GloboNews.
According to Wassef, Fabrício Queiroz did not live in the house in Atibaia.
"Queiroz doesn't live there. Queiroz was in Rio de Janeiro. The people who were there say he arrived less than 4 days ago," said Wassef.
"I never hid Queiroz. Queiroz wasn't hiding," he added.
The Bolsonaro family's lawyer stated that he will reveal later this week the reasons why Fabrício Queiroz was on their property.
The lawyer's statements contradict the declarations made to the Civil Police by one of the caretakers, who was at the residence, that Queiroz had lived there for about a year.
"I didn't speak to Queiroz, I don't have Queiroz's phone number, I never exchanged messages with Queiroz. What I'm going to say is this: regarding the Queiroz issue, I can only speak up to the point that I can speak due to confidentiality." Also on Saturday (20), the lawyer for Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ) in the "rachadinha" case denied in an interview with the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo that he had sheltered Queiroz and that he had maintained contact with the former advisor's family.
