TV Record will pay Boris Casoy more.

A journalist fired from the station in 2006 appealed to the courts and is expected to receive R$ 10 million in severance pay.

247 – TV Record will have to pay a fine of R$ 10 million to journalist Boris Casoy. Fired in 2006, the presenter filed a lawsuit against the broadcaster, which has already paid R$ 6,5 million to the professional. The first instance decision, which orders the company to pay a difference of approximately R$ 4 million, was confirmed today by the São Paulo court.

Boris Casoy's lawyer stated that, with inflation adjustments, the amount could still reach R$ 9 million. Boris Casoy had a contract with the TV station, where he had worked since 1998, for which he received R$ 563 monthly. TV Record says it will only comment on the matter after locating the lawyers who worked on the case. The decision is subject to appeal.

After the initial court ruling, Boris Casoy, currently the anchor of Jornal da Noite on TV Bandeirantes, appealed to the courts to receive the full amount of the fine, which is R$ 27 million, in case of unilateral termination.
