247 - US President Donald Trump has re-filed a $15 billion defamation lawsuit against The New York Times, The Washington Post reported on Friday (17).

In September, Trump announced he would file a lawsuit against the Times. He demanded $15 billion in defamation for "decades of lies" about him. A court in Florida dismissed his lawsuit, criticizing its overly political tone, but allowed the president to refile the complaint.

The amended complaint, filed Thursday night (16) in federal district court in Tampa, Florida, focuses on the Times' "malicious, defamatory and derogatory" articles, the Washington Post reported.

According to the newspaper, Trump's main problem lies in his 2024 book "Lucky Loser" and several other critical articles about the president's business achievements and the sources of his wealth.
