Tijolaço: If Temer isn't going to Rio 2016, he shouldn't go to the G20.

Journalist Fernando Brito, editor of Tijolaço, portrays interim president Michel Temer, who decided not to attend the closing ceremony of Rio 2016 to avoid being booed, as the "clandestine president" and says that, in that condition, he shouldn't go to the G20 either; "The world knows it is facing a fragile, uncertain government," he says; "Therein lies the greatest danger for Michel Temer. Remaining a rag until 2018 is nothing compared to the danger posed by his need to assert himself in power. His insecurity and guilt are calling him to an adventure."

Michel Temer decided to flee the closing of the Olympic Games..

He will possibly come to Rio, but for a "private" broadcast of the Olympic command to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who will represent Tokyo, host of the 2020 games.

A week later, after he is expected to be sworn in as president of Brazil, Temer will attend the G-20 meeting in China.

You'll experience the reverse.

Apart from China, the queen of pragmatism – which knows that the new government will do anything to show that it is an active "player" – what you will find is reticence.

The world knows it is facing a fragile, uncertain government.

He knows that, although still in their early stages, the expressions of hostility he receives could become explosive in a short time.

That doesn't work in today's times: no government can sustain itself without a minimum of popular acceptance, and not even a favorable media outlet can provide it on its own.

That is where Michel Temer's greatest danger lies.

Remaining in shambles until 2018 is a small price to pay compared to the danger posed by their need to assert themselves in power.

His insecurity and guilt call him to an adventure.
