247 - Starting this Friday (1), the Sputnik news agency officially launched its new FM radio in Brazil, with uninterrupted transmission in Portuguese. The information was released by Sputnik itself, which is one of the largest communication networks in the world, operating in more than 30 languages.

The station launches with 24/7 programming, primarily aimed at the audience in Greater Rio, a region with approximately 13,5 million inhabitants. With this, Sputnik becomes the first and only Russian media outlet to operate on FM with continuous news content in the country.

In addition to airing its already well-known podcasts on national and international politics, and its live afternoon program, Sputnik Brasil is also preparing new premieres. According to the agency, new formats for analytical and informative programs focused on contemporary topics of interest to the Brazilian public are planned.

The expansion into radio complements the work of Sputnik Brasil, which celebrated a decade of activity in 2025. The brand's multimedia editorial center is located in Rio de Janeiro and has already gained recognition for its journalistic coverage. One of the highlights was winning the 34th Annual National Journalism Award of the Movement for Justice and Human Rights of Rio Grande do Sul, organized by the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) and the Association of Photographic and Cinematographic Reporters (ARFOC), one of the most traditional awards in the federal capital.
