247 - The SBT channel will stop airing episodes of the Chaves and Chapolin series starting this Saturday, the 1st, after 36 years on the air in Brazil.
In a statement, Silvio Santos's network said that Televisa, which owns the rights to the recordings, informed the Brazilian channel that there is 'an outstanding issue to be resolved with the rights holder of the stories'.
The son of actor Roberto Gomes Bolaños, creator of 'Chaves' and 'Chapolin', is locked in a dispute with the Mexican broadcaster, according to columnist Flávio Ricco of R7.
