Globo reporter attacked with foam live on air and has cell phone stolen in Rio de Janeiro.

A journalist was attacked while doing a live broadcast for Inter TV, an affiliate of TV Globo.

247 - A reporter from Inter TV, an affiliate of TV Globo in the North, Mountain, and Lakes regions of Rio de Janeiro, was assaulted while doing a live broadcast. The professional had foam thrown in his eyes while reporting on the situation at the local bus station. His cell phone was stolen during the incident, according to reports. F5.  

In the video circulating on social media, it is possible to see the moment when a group of people pass by the journalist and throw foam at him, interrupting the broadcast. Unable to continue the report, the professional had to stop speaking. In the studio, the news anchor expressed indignation and condemned the aggression.  

Inter TV issued an official statement regarding the incident, emphasizing that, in addition to the assault, the reporter had his cell phone stolen, but the device was quickly recovered by the security team. "Thanks to the swift action of security, the equipment was recovered and the professional suffered no harm," the station highlighted.  

In the statement, the Globo affiliate also emphasized that "any attack on a journalist is an attack on freedom of the press" and that information must be respected. "The work of journalists, at any time of year, should always be valued, because it is through information that we build a more just and conscious society," the broadcaster stated.
