The Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) has ordered the US company to reveal whether it profited from the Lava Jato corruption investigation and how it compensated Judge Moro.
247 - Journalist Reinaldo Azevedo used his Twitter account on Tuesday (28) to refute arguments that the financial transactions between the presidential candidate for Podemos, Sergio Moro, a former judge declared biased by the Supreme Federal Court (STF), would be a "private matter".
"Nonsense!", exclaimed Azevedo.
The Federal Court of Accounts (TCU) wants to know How did the US company Alvarez & Marsal profit from Lava Jato?, in the collapse of Brazilian construction companies, and how did Moro get paid? The decision was made by Minister Bruno Dantas, accepting a request from prosecutor Lucas Furtado.
"The TCU wants to know how much Moro received from Alvarez & Marsal. 'Oh, it's a private matter…' Nonsense! I remember the demand came from Deputy Attorney General Lucas Rocha Furtado, from the Public Prosecutor's Office that works with the TCU. The press should have been the first to demand it. Most remained silent," wrote the journalist.
With the TCU's decision, it will be possible to know if and how the suspected former judge became a multimillionaire. (Support Joaquim de Carvalho's documentary here), during a period when Brazil was becoming poorer.
