247 - One of the world's leading newspapers, the New York Times, highlighted the historic inauguration ceremony of President Lula (PT) in its cover story this Monday (2).

In the photo chosen to illustrate the headline, the US newspaper portrayed the moment of the ascent of the ramp of the Planalto Palace, in which Lula joined a group of representatives of Brazilian diversity, who handed him the presidential sash in a symbolic gesture.

In the article, the Times highlighted the "elaborate inauguration ceremony, with a motorcade, music festival and hundreds of thousands of supporters filling the Esplanade of Ministries in Brasília".

The absence of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) was also highlighted, as he fled to the US before the end of his term as head of the Brazilian Executive.
