Persecuted, Carta Capital disappears from newsstands in Goiás.
Magazine with cover story "Crime Dominates Goiás" seized from newsstands by unmarked cars; criminals, denounces lawyer Luis Eduardo Greehalgh; Hey, Mino Carta, send an extra stock to Goiânia, tweeted deputy Ricardo Berzoini; 247 receives exclusive report on the situation.
247 – Reports that multiplied on the morning/afternoon of this Sunday, the 1st, indicate a veritable 'raid' in Goiânia on the Carta Capital magazine, which had just arrived at newsstands. Cars without license plates drove through the newsstands of Goiânia, the capital of Goiás, with men buying all available copies at once. It is suspected that the action is being carried out by political groups linked to the scheme of the illegal gambling operator Carlinhos Cachoeira, who is imprisoned as part of Operation Monte Carlo, by the Federal Police. The matter is already known to prominent national politicians.
Federal deputy Ricardo Berzoini, from the PT-SP party, humorously commented on the case on Twitter: “Hey, Mino Carta, send an extra stock of Carta Capital to Goiânia, there are people buying all the editions for their personal collections.” Former deputy and lawyer Luiz Eduardo Greenhalgh called the men who removed the magazine from newsstands “bandits” and provided a link to the full news report.click here"I just learned that there are cars without license plates collecting Carta Capital from newsstands," noted federal deputy Jean Wyllys (PSOL-RJ).
Below is an email received from a source at 247 regarding the situation in Goiânia:
"You can't find Carta Capital magazine in Goiânia, not even for medicine."
Government supporters acted quickly to form lines at the stalls even before they opened. Reports indicate that the atmosphere is tense at the Palácio das Esmeraldas (the governor's palace).
Tension and threat.
The State's Communications Chief is sending warnings to radio, newspaper, and TV newsrooms, stating that they are all prohibited from even mentioning the Cachoeira-Demóstens-Marconi case in any news report. The threats include dismissal and being placed on a blacklist of those receiving public communications funding from the State.
The goal is to make the issue disappear in Goiás, no matter the cost.
Perillo has been meeting with his top aides to find a way out of his involvement in the national news regarding Cachoeira. He is mainly talking to his lawyers.
One of his actions was to go to Twitter to try to distance himself from the imbroglio while simultaneously sending veiled threats.
He said in one of his posts: @marconiperillo: "Everyone knows I've been suffering attacks. For example: the article in Carta Capital magazine is frivolous, malicious, unrealistic, and biased."
Furthermore: "My legal team is studying legal measures to be taken in the civil and criminal fields to repair my honor."
Perillo also threatened, through advisors and allies, to sue Brasil247 for, among other things, showing in a report by Marco Damiani his connections with Cachoeira via businessman Valter Paulo, owner of the house where the illegal gambling operator was arrested and which belonged to the governor ("Mansion strengthens link between Marconi and Cachoeira").
The latest chapter in the "Cachoeira-Demóstenes-Marconi" cover-up operation in Goiás is featured today in the pages of the newspaper O Popular.
Information from the newsroom indicates that there has been constant pressure from the Palácio das Esmeraldas – the seat of power in Goiás – on journalists and the company's management, which is resisting, bringing to light more cases of dangerous links between illegal gambling and the top echelons of power in Goiás.
The letter sounded like a warning and yet another threat between the lines. "Another one."
