247 Internet users reacted negatively to the decision of maintain the interest rate (Selic) at 13,75% announced this Wednesday (3) by the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom), linked to the Central Bank (BC), chaired by Roberto Campos Neto.
"The crime against Brazil continues!" wrote historian Jones Manoel. "The Central Bank, controlled by rent-seeking and the financial system, has decided to maintain the highest interest rate in the world. The Selic rate will remain at 13,75%. As one congressman said: either we overthrow Campos Neto, or he will sink Brazil and the Lula government," he stated.
Another user said that the president of the Central Bank, Roberto Campos Neto, is "above the law, above Brazilians, a Bolsonaro supporter above all else."
