For Janio, the change in command at the Federal Police is suspicious.
"Because it was sudden and without any apparent reason, the replacement of the director of the Federal Police deserves suspicion. Even more suggestive is the choice made among politicians with police-judicial problems," assesses the journalist; "Furthermore, the considerable opinions about the chosen candidate, delegate Fernando Segóvia, are too contradictory. Which is not exactly original, but is inappropriate for the position," he observes.
247 - "The connection is much larger than it seems. The changes in the Federal Police, the conflict-ridden division within the PSDB party, and the obscurities surrounding the new Attorney General's Office are often taken as isolated cases, each with its own existence and meaning. However, they are interconnected parts within a whole of actions and expectations desired by politicians accused of wrongdoing, or who may be accused of it," writes Janio de Freitas in... your column this Sunday.

Even more suggestive is the choice made among politicians with police-judicial problems," assesses the journalist. Janio points out that Leandro Daiello didn't fall from his position as head of the Federal Police "due to a functional failure." "If Daiello didn't fall for no reason, Segóvia didn't rise for no reason either. This replacement is happening when Raquel Dodge, the replacement for the politician who incriminated her, is about to complete two months in office without, however, making her course of action clear," he analyzes.
"Well, when the leadership of the Federal Police undergoes an unexplained replacement, Aécio splits the PSDB in favor of Temer and his group, and the Attorney General's Office creates more suspense than clarity, Eduardo Cunha elevates Temer to the status of absolute innocent, a victim of defamation and an attempted coup. There is only one reason to do so," he concludes.
