In 2014, Sérgio Etchegoyen dedicated himself to attacking the National Truth Commission, which investigated crimes committed during the military dictatorship. He was acting to defend his father and uncle, who were accused of serious human rights violations. Both were granted amnesty.
Now, Etchegoyen is advocating for amnesty for Bolsonaro's terrorist supporters.
