247 - According to columnist Kennedy Alencar, Wednesday's decision by the Supreme Court is a huge defeat for the suspended Speaker of the House, Eduardo Cunha (RJ), who is running out of political and personal options.

“By making Cunha a defendant in a second lawsuit, this time for concealing an account abroad, the court reinforces the possibility of his removal from office. The recommendation for loss of mandate made by the Chamber's Ethics Council was due to his denial of having an account outside of Brazil,” he recalls.

“In this context, although the PMDB member denied yesterday the possibilities of a plea bargain and resigning from the presidency of the Chamber, these options cannot be ruled out, because his political and legal situation has worsened. And this has a personal impact,” he states (read here).
