247 - The father of a transgender woman, José de Abreu, filed a criminal complaint with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office against Cassia Kis after the actress's homophobic statements. The actor also stated that his former colleague is "completely unbalanced." "It's a crime against society," declared the actor who played Tertúlio in Mar do Sertão. "I was very shocked and saddened by what Cassia said, because I have a great concern for my daughter. She lives in California, which is a very open place, but when she comes here, I get quite tense because Brazil is the country that kills the most trans people," the actor said about his youngest daughter, Bia.
The actor is part of three collective actions against the artist who supports Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and is one of the authors of the representations together with Paula Dalaio, a psychologist from São Paulo, and institutions such as Antra (National Association of Transvestites and Transsexuals), the Group of Lawyers for Sexual and Gender Diversity, and ABGLT (Brazilian Association of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, Transsexuals and Intersex People).
