Russian journalist released after protest against the war in Ukraine (video)
"The most difficult days of my life," said Russian journalist Marina Ovsyannikova.
247 - Russian journalist Marina Ovsyannikova was released after being detained and taken to a police station on Monday (14), in Russia, for having made a Protest against the war in Ukraine, targeted by Russian troops since February 24th.
"Those were the hardest days of my life," he said. "I didn't receive any legal assistance. I was in a very difficult position," he recounted.
Marina Ovsiannikova could, however, face criminal charges that could result in severe prison sentences, under a law that cracks down on any "false information" about the Russian military.
Russia opposes Ukraine's entry into the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), led by the United States, which is seeking to expand its influence in Eastern Europe.
This Tuesday (15) will see another round of negotiations between the delegations from Russia and Ukraine.
