Newspaper features Bolsonaro as leader on its cover, sparking outrage on social media.

Faced with the largest lead ever achieved by a presidential candidate on the eve of a first round – Lula's lead – the newspaper O Estado de S. 247 - In light of the largest lead ever achieved by a presidential candidate on the eve of a first round – Lula's lead – the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo features the headline "Bolsonaro isolates himself in the lead; Marina and Ciro compete for second place" on its front page. Polls indicate Lula as the clear leader with a real possibility of winning in the first round of the 2018 elections, in addition to highlighting a 5 percentage point increase since previous polls.

Even after the UN Human Rights Committee determined that the candidacy rights of former President Lula must be respected, the newspaper O Estado de S. Paulo insists on ignoring the PT candidate's lead, thereby producing one of the most extravagant fake news stories in Brazilian journalism.

The newspaper cover generated outrage on social media, such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Readers, apparently, no longer accept this type of distortion of the facts and the Brazilian electoral scene.
