Janio de Freitas: the complacency with Lava Jato is over.

Journalist Janio de Freitas states that Lava Jato has finally shown its true colors. He says: "The four defeats suffered by members of Lava Jato in the last week offer a belated and welcome insight; the strength and sequence of the defeats, despite the pressure exerted by the group, indicate the exhaustion of the timidity with which higher authorities bowed to so many abuses, outside the bounds of legal action against corruption, by those associated judges and prosecutors; some are beginning to see the inner workings beneath the corrective role of Lava Jato."

247 - Journalist Janio de Freitas claims that Lava Jato has finally shown its true colors. He says: "aThe four defeats suffered by members of Lava Jato last week offer a belated and welcome insight. The strength and sequence of the defeats, despite the pressure exerted by the group, indicate the exhaustion of the timidity with which higher authorities bowed to so many abuses, outside the bounds of legal action against corruption, by those associated judges and prosecutors. Some are beginning to see the inner workings beneath the corrective role of Lava Jato.

In his column in the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper. The journalist points out: "sEven if examples were lacking, the financial fund conceived by Deltan Dallagnol and his associates would, in itself, demonstrate the group's, and each member's, complete disregard for their functional and legal limits. Shifting R$ 2,5 billion from a fine levied against Petrobras, turning it into a fund under the influence of the Lava Jato group, was such an audacious undertaking that it required practices well-known to prosecutors and judges who uphold moral standards.

And he reinforces: "pFirst, they forced the agreement to divert the fine owed to the Union to the State. Then, they signed this agreement, without the power to do so. After that, they included in the project to be examined by the Justice system the false claim that, according to the terms negotiated by Petrobras for its debt in the United States, the billions would either go to that fund or to the Americans. It's the Lava Jato group applying the methods of many of its prisoners and those convicted for using them."
