Internet users criticize André Mendonça for denying habeas corpus to a single mother.
The Supreme Court minister's decision came on the same day he voted against opening criminal proceedings against those accused of coup attempts in Brasília.
247 - Social media users criticized Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice André Mendonça after he voted against a habeas corpus petition for a single mother who stole four packages of diapers worth R$120 from a Lojas Americanas store in 2017.
One internet user wrote: "Defending terrorists is okay, but letting a mother who stole diapers off the hook isn't... André Mendonça continues to be a terribly despicable person."
"Terribly despicable," said another person on social media.
Another profile stated that there is "no technical argument, for example, that could absolve a terrorist like Daniel Silveira and condemn a woman for petty theft."
