247 - In an article published in Valor Econômico and Globo last week, businessman Eike Batista claims to be the biggest loser with the collapse of his companies' shares on the BM&FBovespa stock exchange and attempts to shift responsibility to his companies' executives, who he alleges misled him.

In an interview with Infomoney, the most influential finance website in Brazil, journalist Leonardo Attuch, author of the e-book "Eike: the man who sold land on the moon," published by Editora 247, argues that the real losers were the minority shareholders, misled by the businessman (read more). here (the full text).

The journalist highlights the Securities and Exchange Commission's omission throughout the bubble built by Eike, as well as the role of investment bank analysts and journalists who gave credence to his boasts, such as the "discoveries" of "half of Bolivia" in Maranhão, and a reserve of 2 billion barrels, almost half of the pre-salt layer, in the shallow waters of Paraty. As is now known, none of that had any substance.

The trend suggests that Eike will soon restructure his companies' debts, and that some of them, such as the shipping company OSX, which has no clients, will be liquidated.
