Albert Einstein Hospital confirms Faustão's new hospitalization; understand why.
The presenter underwent two transplants in recent years and remains under medical care at Albert Einstein Hospital.
247 - Presenter Fausto Silva, known as Faustão, was hospitalized this Wednesday (6) at Hospital Albert Einstein, in the capital of São Paulo, due to an infection in his leg. The information was confirmed by the institution's press office, which, however, did not provide details about the communicator's state of health. "The hospitalization is confirmed," said the hospital team. in a statement to columnist Fábia Oliveira, from the Metrópoles portal.
Faustão, 74, underwent two transplants in the last two years: a heart transplant in August 2023, and a kidney transplant six months later. Since then, the presenter had been undergoing hemodialysis sessions and remained under regular medical supervision. He has been away from television since May of last year, when he left the helm of the program "Faustão na Band".
The new hospitalization also had repercussions on the family's personal life. João Silva, the presenter's son, cancelled a party he was going to give this Thursday (7), in São Paulo, citing "personal reasons", according to columnist Erlan Bastos.
In December 2023, Faustão was also hospitalized due to an infection. On that occasion, he was only discharged at the end of January.
