247 - The iPad was launched on April 3, 2010, by the American company Apple, owned by Steve Jobs. It was a revolutionary device at the time, helping to popularize tablets and changing the way people interact with technology.

The iPad initially ran the iOS 3.2 operating system and was designed to bridge the gap between smartphones and personal computers, offering a larger touchscreen and a more comfortable experience for browsing the internet, reading e-books, viewing photos and videos, and performing simple productivity tasks.

Since its launch, the iPad has undergone several hardware and software updates and remains one of Apple's most popular devices.

Why the iPad lost popularity

Although the iPad was an innovative and very popular device upon its release, its popularity has declined over time. There are several reasons for this:

Competition from other devices: Over time, other mobile devices, such as larger and more powerful smartphones and ultra-thin laptops, emerged on the market, competing directly with the iPad. This diminished the exclusivity and usefulness of the device.

Longer update cycle: The iPad's update cycle is longer than that of other mobile devices, meaning that hardware and software updates are less frequent. This can lead users to seek out newer, more up-to-date devices.

High costs: The iPad is a relatively expensive device, which may discourage some users from upgrading or buying new models.

Change in user behavior: As more services and applications become cloud-based, users may prefer devices with physical keyboards and full operating systems that allow them to work and produce content more easily.

However, the iPad is still popular among many users, especially those who use the device for lighter activities such as web browsing, reading e-books, watching movies, and playing games.
