247 - In 2019, Rede Globo implemented a series of measures due to a financial crisis the Rio de Janeiro-based network was facing. Now, Globo is reportedly cutting the salaries of several actors.

Recently, actor Stênio Garcia's contract was not renewed and he was fired after 40 years of working at the network.

The proposed salary reduction reportedly angered the affected actors, as they were surprised to see the amounts deposited last Monday (6). The information is from the website On the small screen.

To the surprise of this group, part of their wages had been cut without any prior notice.

The cut, however, would not be due to the economic crisis the country is facing because of Covid-19, but rather a contractual matter. Globo artists receive up to 30% more when they work on any of the network's productions. It's worth remembering that all recordings have been suspended to avoid gatherings.
