247 - Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) became the target of internet users' indignation when he published a post on his social media in which he said he lamented the death of singer and composer Rita Lee, who died on Monday night (8) at the age of 75.

“My condolences to the family, friends, and fans of the Queen of Rock, Rita Lee, who was one of the greatest singers and songwriters in this country!”, the congressman wrote on Twitter. The reaction on the internet was immediate: “Flávio, I hope your condolences never reach her. She would hate it,” wrote an internet user identified as Paula. “She would tell you to go to hell for posting this,” posted the profile Matheus Fidelis. “Changing tactics now? We know very well that you're not like that,” said the profile Jane Salzano.

Rita Lee herself, who passed away due to complications related to lung cancer, criticized Jair Bolsonaro (PL) on several occasions. According to the artist's son, singer and guitarist Beto Lee, She even nicknamed the cancerous tumor "Jair."”, referring to the abuses of power by the former president.

In 2021, Rita Lee harshly criticized Jair Bolsonaro's administration of the Federal Executive, stating that she found it "frightening to see people in charge with such outdated minds. Racism, misogyny, and homophobia annoy me. I have no patience for it. I wanted to arrive in 2021 and see more respect in the world."

In 2011, when Bolsonaro was in his fifth term as a federal deputy for Rio de Janeiro, the artist made a series of ironic posts on Twitter using fan fiction: “Bolsonaro and I had an affair. He wasn't very into it, if you know what I mean. We broke up because Bolsinho had his eye on a classmate,” Rita wrote in one of the posts. “Look, the more you look, the less you see. The peace of the Lord comes equally to everyone. Except for Bolsonaro, that motherfucker!” she said in another post.

Internet users' outrage is also linked to the Bolsonaro clan's defense of the military dictatorship in Brazil. Rita Lee was the artist most censored by the military governments, claiming to protect "morals and good customs."

In 1976, while pregnant with Beto Lee, her first child, the singer was arrested by agents of the dictatorship. She was released thanks to the help of her friend – and also an icon of Brazilian music – Elis Regina.
