The financier of the film about Lava Jato is being investigated by the Federal Police and the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office in Pará.
Journalist Luís Nassif presents a profile of businessman Sérgio Amoroso, whose name has finally surfaced in recent days as the financier of a film that is a piece of propaganda against Lula; in December 2015, a Federal Police operation targeted public officials in the state of Pará involved in fraud in the forestry trade system, benefiting the Jari Project, controlled by Amoroso; there were searches and seizures at 41 addresses linked to five companies, two preventive arrests and 16 temporary arrests.

A self-made man, he started life as an office boy, founded a paper sales company, and in 1999 managed to take control of the Jari Project, which was under intervention by the BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), paying 1 real and assuming the debts.
Since then, he has become a sort of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde of the pulp and paper industry. On one hand, he has received several corporate responsibility awards, advocating for sustainability, initiatives in favor of children with cancer, among other meritorious activities.
