Contact Us - Included with Época magazine once a month, Época São Paulo had its last edition with a fixed periodicity in December. From next year, the brand will continue to exist, but it will no longer be available at newsstands – nor for subscribers – on a monthly basis, as announced by Editora Globo, the publisher of the title, on the afternoon of Thursday, the 19th.
With this editorial decision, which, according to the company, seeks to "adapt to the current conditions of the advertising market" and maintain the "health and profitability" of its products, the magazine from the capital of São Paulo will only have commemorative editions, such as the special edition "The Best of São Paulo" – held annually – and on other occasions, which have not been announced by the publisher.
According to a report by the Portal Comunique-se, with Editora Globo's decision to end Época São Paulo as a regularly published publication, the future of the team is uncertain. One of the magazine's contributors stated that the company is looking to reassign the group to other projects, but that everyone has already been informed that they could be laid off.
The statement announcing the end of Época São Paulo magazine as a "regular monthly title" was signed by the general director of Editora Globo, Frederic Kachar. Check it out:
Starting in January 2014, Época São Paulo will cease to be a regular monthly publication.
The magazine will now only be published in commemorative and special editions, such as the "Best of São Paulo" award, which will be maintained.
With this, we intend to adapt to the current conditions of the advertising market and concentrate our energies and efforts on maintaining the health and profitability of our brands. We thank the entire team that has produced Época São Paulo, led by editor-in-chief Celso Masson, for the competent and valuable work developed to date.
