247 - The São Paulo Court of Justice has decided not to accept Danilo Gentili's appeal in a lawsuit. With the decision of judges César Peixoto, Edson Luiz de Queiroz, and José Aparício Coelho Prado Neto, the case's rapporteur, the Court upheld the ruling that the presenter must pay R$ 41,8 in damages to the nurses' union. The lawsuit filed by the union in 2020 was initiated after the presenter published a sexist joke on social media. "Do you know if there's a specialized nursing home where the nurses give the old men handjobs? This has been a concern of mine when I think about the future. Does this type of service exist?" Danilo wrote on Twitter.
In the first conviction, published in April 2021, Judge André Salvador Bezerra, of the 42nd Civil Court of São Paulo, observed that the presenter "used his status as a public figure to offend an entire professional category" and defended the idea of "age-old forms of oppression against women" in his publication.
