"Censorship never again," says Juliana Dal Piva, after censorship was lifted regarding mansions bought with illegal money by the Bolsonaro clan.
The Bolsonaro family bought 51 properties with cash.
247 - "I want to thank the UOL legal team and all the journalists from different media outlets who reported on and defended our work today. At the end of this Friday, journalism and Brazilian democracy were the real winners. Thank you very much. Censorship never again!", wrote journalist Juliana Dal Piva, after Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça overturned the censorship of the report about mansions bought with illegal money by the Bolsonaro clan.
Supreme Court Justice André Mendonça overturned the decision of the Federal District Court and released the Uol report on properties valued at R$ 26 million and purchased in cash by the Bolsonaro family. The measure is valid until the complaint from the Uol portal is judged by the Supreme Court, according to information published this Friday (23) by the G1 portal.
In the decision, which is under seal, Mendonça said that, in a democratic state governed by the rule of law, the full exercise of freedom of expression must be guaranteed. He stated that censorship has no basis in the Constitution.
