Governor Geraldo Alckmin, Mayor Fernando Haddad, and former President Fernando Henrique Cardoso paid their respects to the family of the businessman from Grupo Abril at the funeral ceremony in Itapecirica da Serra.
247 – With the participation of former president Fernando Henrique, governor Geraldo Alckmin, and mayor Fernando Haddad, the cremation ceremony for businessman Roberto Civita, controller of Grupo Abril, concluded at 17:00 PM. His wake was held in Itapecirica da Serra, where hundreds of friends and family paid their last respects throughout the day. Former governor José Serra and former mayor Gilberto Kassab were also present.
President Dilma Rousseff released a statement of condolence for the death of Civita, born in Milan in 1936, who continued the publishing house founded by his father, Victor, in 1950, in São Paulo. Grupo Abril, which publishes Veja magazine, among others, had already been headed by his son, Giancarlo, who is expected to remain at the helm of the company's business.
