Journalist André Trigueiro published an article dismantling what he calls Jair Bolsonaro's "first mission" to his Minister of Science and Technology, Marcos Pontes, who went to Israel to seek solutions for the drought in the Northeast, including water desalination; "They are looking abroad for a solution that, in fact, has already been applied since 2004 - with national technology endorsed by Embrapa - and which has already resulted in the installation of 244 desalination systems in Ceará, 44 in Paraíba, 29 in Sergipe, 10 in Piauí, 68 in Rio Grande do Norte, 45 in Alagoas, and 145 in Bahia."

247 - The journalist André Trigueiro published a text on his blog, on G1In his article, he dismantles what he calls Jair Bolsonaro's "first mission" to his Minister of Science and Technology, Marcos Pontes, who went to Israel to seek solutions for the drought in the Northeast, including water desalination. "They are looking abroad for a solution that, in fact, has already been applied since 2004 – with national technology endorsed by Embrapa – and which has already resulted in the installation of 244 desalination systems in Ceará, 44 in Paraíba, 29 in Sergipe, 10 in Piauí, 68 in Rio Grande do Norte, 45 in Alagoas, and 145 in Bahia," Trigueiro explained.

"The Freshwater Program (PAD), developed by the Ministry of the Environment, is geared towards efficient and low-cost solutions, as has been the case with the installation of cisterns for rainwater harvesting in communities most affected by drought. What remains is the completion of the São Francisco River water transfer project and, most importantly, the definition of who will pay for the system's maintenance. The installation costs were entirely covered by the federal government, and the governors of the states benefiting from the project should bear the remaining expenses, but there is no indication that this will happen. The 'widow' is paying the bill, that is, all of us. It will be up to the president-elect to resolve this political imbroglio that is bleeding the Union's coffers dry," the journalist said.
