247 - The hashtag #aCulpaÉdoParente (The Parent's Fault) is among the most discussed topics on Twitter due to the truckers' strike, who are protesting against increases in diesel fuel prices.
Pressure is mounting on Petrobras president Pedro Parente. According to FUP coordinator José Maria Rangel, the head of the state-owned company and Michel Temer are to blame for the abusive price increases in petroleum derivatives.
"Petrobras shareholders are laughing all the way to the bank with the daily price adjustments. More than 121 adjustments have been made since this policy was implemented. Gasoline and diesel prices have increased by more than 50%. This is the price of the irresponsibility of Mr. Michel Temer and Mr. Pedro Parente. But the media doesn't talk about it," he states.read more here).
According to the Association of Petrobras Engineers (AEPET), Petrobras' current pricing policy favors the United States and the private sector. This is allegedly one of the government's tactics to bankrupt the company. "Crude oil exports have skyrocketed, while imports of refined products have hit record highs. Diesel imports have increased 1,8 times since 2015, and imports from the US by 3,6 times. Diesel imported from the US, which accounted for 41% of the total in 2015, exceeded 80% of Brazil's total imports in 2017," the statement said.see here).

The coup plotters are cornered: They can't let fuel prices fall without changing policy, because Petrobras will go bankrupt, nor can they change policy, going against the international financiers of the coup, because the government will fall.#ItIsTheRelatives'Fault
