The story of Bolsonaro and the journalist he threatened to kill.

Back in 1987, Cássia Maria, a reporter for Veja magazine, wrote a story about a terrorist plot devised by then-army captain Jair Bolsonaro, a plan for which he was sentenced to 15 days in military prison. Following the incident, Cássia needed police protection because she was threatened by the now-presidential candidate, reports DCM editor Kiko Nogueira.

The officers' plan was designed so that there would be no casualties. The intention was to demonstrate dissatisfaction with salaries and create problems for Minister Leônidas Pires Gonçalves. According to Bolsonaro, if the Minister of the Army ever decided to orchestrate a military coup, 'he would end up being overthrown by his own troops, who would refuse to obey him'.”
