In the final moments of his term, Mourão proposes a plan to combat deforestation in the Amazon.

The initiative presented by the vice-president proposes the opposite of what the government has done so far and cites "good results".

CartaCapital - Vice President Hamilton Mourão (Republicans) launched a plan to combat deforestation in the Amazon 16 days before the end of his term. The "Our Amazon Plan" proposes the opposite of what the government has done in the last four years, allowing record increases in deforestation.

Among the proposals are the return of the Amazon Fund, which was paralyzed by former Environment Minister Ricardo Salles; the expansion of monitoring by INPE (National Institute for Space Research), publicly discredited by Bolsonaro; and the creation of an action plan against deforestation, which already existed and was shelved in the first year of his term.
