247 - Vice President and Senator-elect Hamilton Mourão (Republicanos) is considering inviting Vice President-elect Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) to participate in the final meeting of the Amazon Council, which is expected to take place in December.

"I might invite him. It will be a meeting to take stock of all the activities. And I don't know if the council will continue (in the future government), so I'll analyze it," said Mourão, according to the newspaper. The Globe

The Amazon Council, chaired by Mourão, is responsible for coordinating the federal government's actions and public policies aimed at the Amazon region, especially those related to environmental protection.

"Mourão has not yet made a final decision about inviting Alckmin because he doesn't know if the leadership of the Council will remain with the Vice-President of the Republic in the future government, as it is today. It is not even known if the council will be maintained from 2023 onwards," the report highlights.
