Two hooded men entered the premises and shot Raimundo Nonato Oliveira in Tocantins.
247 - One of the leaders of the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST) in Tocantins, activist Raimundo Nonato Oliveira, 46, was murdered in the early hours of Tuesday (13) inside his home in the municipality of Araguatins (TO), near the border with Pará.
According to the movement, Raimundo was sleeping at home in the Vila Cidinha neighborhood. Two hooded men entered the house and shot him. The man was known within the movement as "Cacheado".

In a statement, the MST (Landless Workers' Movement) stated that Raimundo was persecuted by landowners and land grabbers in the Bico do Papagaio region, and was the target of attempted murder "on several occasions" between 2000 and 2015.
The Tocantins Public Security Secretariat stated that the case is being investigated by the 11th Police Station of Araguatins.
No suspects have been arrested for the crime.
