247 - Minister Marina Silva (Rede-SP) will discuss with Vice President Geraldo Alckmin (PSB) next week the transfer of the Legal Amazon Council to the Ministry of the Environment. informs Igor Gadelha's column on the Metrópoles website.

Since 2020, the Council has belonged to the Vice-Presidency's structure, when Jair Bolsonaro (PL) removed it from the Environment Ministry and restricted contacts with the governors of the Legal Amazon.

However, Alckmin's allies believe that, since he is also in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Lula's vice president will accumulate too many responsibilities.

According to the column, people close to Marina are "weighing the pros and cons of the transfer." There is an understanding that the Council is, in fact, more aligned with the environmental agenda. However, there is also the view that the Vice-Presidency has "greater political power" with governors of the Legal Amazon region.
