247 - President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced on Friday (28) the start of Brazilian beef exports to Vietnam, after more than 20 years of negotiations. The announcement was a milestone for the Brazilian agricultural sector, celebrating the entry of beef into a new Asian market. The news was received with enthusiasm by the sectors involved, especially the meat industry, which sees the achievement as an important opportunity for expansion.

"With this achievement, Brazilian beef producers and the industry gain another important opportunity to diversify markets, expanding the export of their products without compromising domestic supply," said Roberto Perosa, president of the Brazilian Association of Meat Exporting Industries (Abiec), in an interview with Agência Brasil China.

Vietnam, already a significant trading partner for Brazil, ranks fifth among destinations for Brazilian agribusiness exports and is the 14th largest supplier of products to the country. Furthermore, Brazil is already the largest supplier of pork to Vietnam, with a 37% market share, and holds the second position in exports of chicken and cotton.

During his visit to Vietnam, Lula also strengthened ties between the two countries, highlighting the importance of expanding trade partnerships. The Brazilian president expressed his expectation that Vietnam Airlines, the country's main airline, would seek partnerships with Embraer, offering jets from the E-Jets family as a solution for regional connectivity. "I hope that Vietnam Airlines can positively evaluate Embraer's offer for the E-Jets family, ideal for regional connectivity," said Lula.

The new partnership between Brazil and Vietnam not only opens new doors for Brazilian beef, but also reinforces Brazil's role as a global supplier of quality food and products, expanding its business opportunities in the Asian market.
