Brazil and Russia strengthen industrial and productive partnership.

According to the government, the dialogue focused on combining technological innovation, value creation, and sustainability.

247 - The Brazilian government made progress this week in strengthening industrial and productive cooperation with Russia, in a meeting held in Brasília between the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC) and an official delegation from the Russian government. The meeting precedes the high-level agenda scheduled for this Thursday (February 5th) at the Itamaraty Palace, and is part of Brazil's strategy to expand international partnerships and attract investments.

According to information released by the MDIC (Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade), the dialogue focused on the combination of technological innovation, value addition, and sustainability as factors of competitiveness for national industry. The ministry's executive secretary, Márcio Elias Rosa, highlighted that these vectors guide the federal government's industrial policy and drive the expansion of cooperation with strategic partners.

During the meeting, Márcio Elias Rosa emphasized Brazil's priority of reducing external dependence and strengthening domestic production. “Reducing external dependence on essential inputs and strengthening local production is a priority for Brazil. We are attracting investments, expanding industrial capacity, and generating jobs and income. We want to produce with more technology and added value, advancing in areas such as fertilizers, agribusiness, machinery and equipment, clean energy, logistics, and industrial digitalization, to make Brazilian industry stronger and more competitive,” he stated.

Strategic partnership and productive integration

The delegation from the Russian Federation was led by the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, Alexei Gruzdev, and included the participation of the trade representative from the Russian Embassy in Brazil, Viktor Sheremetker. During the meeting, Gruzdev emphasized the strategic nature of the bilateral relationship and the interest in expanding joint projects.

“Brazil and Russia are strategic partners. We want to expand joint industrial investments and projects, with concrete benefits for our economies,” declared the Deputy Minister. He added: “We are ready to share our experience in technology, infrastructure, and production security, supporting the modernization of Brazilian industry.”

The cooperation agenda includes sectors considered priorities by the Brazilian government, such as fertilizers, agribusiness, machinery and equipment, clean energy, logistics, and industrial digitalization. The goal is to expand productive integration, stimulate innovation, and strengthen the competitiveness of national industry on the global stage.

Bilateral dialogue will be deepened this Thursday (February 5th) during the VIII Meeting of the Brazil-Russia High-Level Commission (CAN), which will be attended by the Vice President of the Republic, Geraldo Alckmin. The meeting reinforces the commitment of both governments to a long-term strategic agenda focused on technical cooperation, business promotion, and attracting productive investments.
