Republic Airways, which operates exclusively with Embraer aircraft, will receive the new units throughout 2025. The company is one of the leading players in regional aviation in the United States, with a current fleet of 200 E-170 and E-175 aircraft. With approximately 900 daily flights in 80 cities across the US and Canada, Republic Airways operates under the American Eagle, Delta Connection, and United Express brands, connecting smaller regions to major air hubs.
In an official statement, Aloizio Mercadante, president of BNDES, highlighted the importance of the bank's historical support for Embraer's growth on the international stage.
The operation occurs at a time when the federal government, under the leadership of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), seeks to strengthen the role of BNDES as a financing agent for strategic projects for the Brazilian economy. The bank has been a key player in supporting sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and industry, focusing on job creation and stimulating the international competitiveness of national companies.
