Leonardo Sobreira, 247 - After being taxed as a "threat to public health" After having two doctors skeptical of Covid-19 vaccination on his podcast, podcaster Joe Rogan spoke out in a video posted on his Instagram this Monday (31).

270 doctors, nurses, scientists, and professors wrote an open letter addressed to Spotify, the streaming platform that paid $100 million for the broadcast rights to “The Joe Rogan ExperienceThey called for "a clear and public policy to moderate misinformation" related to Covid-19. In protest against these incidents, artists Neil Young and Joni Mitchell removed their music from the platform's catalog.

Later on Monday, the company announced it will add a "content warning" to any podcast episode that includes discussions about Covid-19, said CEO Daniel Ek.

"The Joe Rogan Experience"It has been a stage for various figures, such as anti-vaccine doctor Robert Malone, New York Times journalists, Bernie Sanders, Ben Shapiro, Alex Jones, comedians, astrophysicists, former CIA agents, Elon Musk, and leaders of the American far-right. Pro-vaccine doctors have also been invited, such as Sanjay Gupta."

The variety of personalities interviewed makes the podcast appealing to some, but truly oppressive to others, who mobilize their followers on social media with the intention of canceling the show.

“Many people have a distorted perception of what I do, based on sensational headlines,” Rogan says in the video.

He cites the episodes with doctors Peter A. McCullough and Robert Malone: "both are very intelligent people, and they have a different opinion of the narrative." mainstream"I want to hear their opinion." "These episodes have been labeled 'dangerous misinformation'," he says.

“The problem I have with the term 'misinformation,' especially today, is that many of the things we thought were misinformation a short time ago are now accepted as fact. For example, 8 months ago, if you said that even if vaccinated you could still contract Covid-19 and spread the virus, you would be removed from social media. Now, that's accepted as fact.”

The same would happen if someone criticized the effectiveness of cloth masks or defended the hypothesis that the new coronavirus originated in a laboratory, according to the podcaster.

“I don’t know if they’re right, because I’m not a scientist. I’m just someone who sits and talks to people. Do I make mistakes? Absolutely, but I always try to correct them. I’m interested in telling the truth, in discovering the truth, and in having interesting conversations with people who have different opinions. I’m not interested in talking to people who only have one perspective.”

He lamented Neil Young's decision. "I've always been a Neil Young fan." "I'm not angry with him."

Rogan stated that he agrees with the measures that Spotify will implement in the episodes about Covid-19.
