247 - China's car exports reached 575 units in July, registering a 22,6% increase compared to the same month last year, according to data released this Monday (11) by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). informed the Global TimesThe advance was driven primarily by the performance of new energy vehicles (NEVs), a category that includes electric and hybrid models.
From January to July, the country exported 3,68 million vehicles, a 12,8% increase compared to the same period last year. New vehicle exports (NEVs) were the driving force behind this growth: in July alone, more than 225 units were shipped, 10% more than in June and more than double the number recorded in the same period of 2024.
According to CAAM, domestic production of electric and hybrid vehicles (NEVs) in the month reached 1,243 million units, while domestic sales totaled 1,262 million, representing increases of 26,3% and 27,4% year-on-year. In the first seven months of 2025, China produced 8,232 million NEVs and sold 8,22 million, representing growth of 39,2% and 38,5% respectively compared to the same period last year. These vehicles already account for 45% of all new car sales in the country, consolidating China's leadership in the global automotive electrification market.
The strong expansion of exports and the high share of NEVs in domestic sales reflect China's strategy of accelerating the transition to cleaner technologies, with massive investments in charging infrastructure, tax incentives, and advances in battery production.
