Brazilian actress and singer Zezé Motta is yet another artist to express her disapproval of Congressman Pastor Feliciano (PSC-SP) remaining as head of the Human Rights and Minorities Commission in the Federal Chamber.

The first Black woman to star in a Brazilian film (Xica da Silva, in 1976), Zezé said she believes that the continued presence of the pastor-deputy, who is considered homophobic, on the committee reflects a Brazil that is still prejudiced.

"I don't know what to call him. The other day I called him an idiot because the transvestites held a demonstration and I participated. I called him an idiot and said: look, you can sue me, I don't have the money to pay anyway (laughs). So everything's fine," he said in an interview with Metrópole radio.

Zezé promised to participate, "as much as possible," in all movements against Feliciano and said that the popular clamor for the deputy's removal from the commission will have an effect. "The pressure is immense. We're going to get rid of this scoundrel."

The artist is in Salvador to present the show 'Negra Melodia' today, tomorrow and Sunday (12, 13 and 14), for free, at the Caixa Cultural space.
