China Radio International Chinese President Xi Jinping today (25) sent a congratulatory letter to the first conference of the Asian Alliance for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, which opened in Xi'an city, Shaanxi province.
In the letter, the Chinese leader stated that Asia is an important cradle of human civilization. The continent preserves rich cultural heritage. In 2019, Xi Jinping proposed jointly protecting the continent's cultural heritage. Over the past four years, various parties have actively responded to the proposal by conducting pragmatic cooperation in research on ancient civilizations, joint archaeology, monument restoration, and museum exchanges.
Xi Jinping emphasized that the establishment of the Asian Alliance for Cultural Heritage Protection promotes the strengthening of the protection of Asia's cultural heritage and the deepening of exchanges between Asian civilizations. Within the framework of the Alliance, China is willing to work with other countries on the continent to strengthen the exchange of experiences and promote international cooperation.
The conference is co-organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the National Administration of Cultural Heritage, and the Shaanxi Provincial Government.
