WhatsApp releases forwarded message notification for all users.
The tool emerges at a time when the app is fighting fake news.

WhatsApp announced on Tuesday (10) that all users of the application will have access to the feature that notifies when a received message has been forwarded from another conversation. The tool comes amid attempts to prevent the spread of rumors after people were killed in India by lynchings.
The attacks were based on fake news circulating on the messaging app. Following the incidents, the forwarding notification tool had already been under testing. According to the company, indicating that a message has been forwarded "will help determine if a friend or family member actually wrote the message they sent or if it originally came from someone else."
The update is being rolled out gradually, and WhatsApp recommends installing the latest version on your smartphone for proper use, the press office said in a statement.
